He received his BSc degree from Chengdu university of science and technology in 1982 and his MSc degree from Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry in 1985. Then he obtained his Ph.D degree from South China university of technology in 1996. He worked in Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry from 1985 to 2000. Among this period, he was a visiting professor in Dortmond University of Germany In October 1996 - April 1997. He began his work in Institute of Chemistry since 2000.
