Xinyu Cao, Associate Profesor, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Associate Researcher Mainly engaged in the research of organic silicon functional materials, involving shape memory polymers, self-cleaning surfaces/interfaces, selective optical transmission films, LED packaging materials, etc.
From 1987 to 1994, I studied Polymer Materials and Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University and obtained my bachelor's and master's degrees. During this period, I researched and developed fast drying unsaturated polyester putty and coatings, which won the third prize for scientific and technological progress at Xi'an Jiaotong University.
In 1997, he obtained a doctoral degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the same year, he went to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida in the United States for postdoctoral research. During this period, he mainly engaged in the synthesis and characterization of structurally controllable organosilicon polymers, such as trapezoidal organosilicon polymers with reactive side groups and benzene and biphenyl bridging groups. He also explored the preparation of nano tubular structured polymers using organic synthesis methods.
In 1998, he joined Chemat Technology, Inc. in the United States to engage in research and development, responsible for the research and development of the projects "Super hydrophilic self-cleaning coating for bathrooms" and "Anti fog coating for bathrooms", and participated in the research and development of "Sol gel method for preparing antireflection and antireflection films for lenses" as the main research and development personnel.
During my work at the Science and Technology Research Institute of the National Family Planning Commission in 2001, I researched a new type of parental biodegradable material for the sustained release of peptides and protein drugs, and received funding from the Returned Overseas Students Project Fund.
In 2003, he joined the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, mainly engaged in the preparation and performance research of trapezoidal organosilicon polymer and responsive polymer materials (including shape memory, surface wettability, energy storage), and the research of selective optical transmission film materials.
Hosted one National Key Research and Development Project and one 863 Project, and led four National Natural Science Foundation general projects. As a key member, participated in multiple major national projects. Received the second prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award (R6) in 2014.
Published over 50 papers in domestic and foreign journals including Advanced Materials and Polymer Chemistry. Participated in the compilation of "Introduction to Supramolecular Construction Regulating Polymer Synthesis". The first applicant applied for more than 20 patents and obtained authorization, and three patents have been transferred to the enterprise.
